Digha is the biggest sea beach in West Bengal. It is located 187 km southwest of Kolkata. Diga has a gentle slope and a 7 km long shallow sandy beach with rolling waves. The scenic beauty of this place is captivating and enticing. The beach is surrounded by Casuarina plantations along the coast, which makes it stand out for its beauty. Sunsets and sunrises reflected in the salty waters of the Bay of Bengal are truly an artist's canvas. Diga waters are calm and shallow about a mile from shore, making it very safe for swimming. Diga, which was known as Bircole during the time of Warren Hastings, was discovered by the British in the late 18th century. Warren Hastings (1780) referred to it as "East Brighton" in one of his letters to his wife also in 1923, a British tourist named John Frank Smith was fascinated by the beauty of Degas and started living here. History of Victoria Memorial

VICTORIA MEMORIAL

Established: 1921: 102 years ago.
Location: Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Kolkata, West Bengal, India.
Architect: William Emerson, Vincent Esch.
Collection size: Nearly 30,000 (31 March 2009).

After the death of Victoria in January 1901, Lord Curzon, the Viceroy of India, suggested that an appropriate memorial to the late Queen-Empress be created in Calcutta, now called Calcutta, then the capital of British India. He proposed the development of a magnificent building with a museum and gardens. and you'll see before their eyes the wonders of the past revived." officialdom, princes, politicians and therefore the people of India responded generously to Lord Curzon's appeal for funds, and therefore the total cost of the monument, amounting to at least one million, five million rupees, was derived entirely from their voluntary contributions. There was also some uncertainty about the strength of the foundations and tests were administered on them. The foundation stone was laid by the new Prince of Wales on 4th January 1906. Messrs. Martin & Co. of Calcutta were entrusted with the building work and therefore the extension work was started in 1910. In 1912, before construction was completed, King George V announced the transfer of India's capital from Calcutta to New Delhi.[9] The Victoria Memorial thus stood in what would be a provincial capital rather than a capital city. The Victoria Memorial was completed and formally opened in 1921. Some additions were made to the memorial after 1947. A smaller Victoria I Memorial was erected in 1921. Hardoi district which has since been converted into an urban recreation action club. the planning is in the Indo-Saracenic Revival style, which uses a mix of British and Mughal elements with Venetian, Egyptian and Deccan architectural influences. Emerson's assistant Vincent Jerome Esch designed the bridge on the side and the garden gate. In 1902, Emerson hired Escher to sketch his original design for the Victoria Memorial. Atop the memorial's central dome may be a 16-foot-tall figure of the Angel of Victory. round the dome is allegorical sculptures involving art, architecture, justice, and love, and above the north porch are motherhood, prudence, and learning. The monument to Victoria is made of white Makrana marble. With its dome, four subsidiaries, octagonal arched chattris, high portals, terrace, and arched corner towers, it mirrors the Taj Mahal in design. [required The Victoria Memorial has 25 galleries. It also features a collection of rare and antique books such as Illustrated Works of William Shakespeare, Arabian Nights' Entertainment, and Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. However, galleries and their exhibitions and programmatic elements of the monument don't compete with purely architectural spaces or voids. Victoria's wedding to Prince Albert at the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace in 1840; baptism of the Prince of Wales within the chapel of St. George, Windsor Castle, 1842; the wedding of the Prince of Wales to Alexandra of Denmark in 1863; and paintings of Victoria at her Golden Jubilee at Westminster Abbey in 1887 and her Diamond Jubilee at St. Paul in June 1897. within the center of the room are Queen Victoria's childhood rosewood piano and her desk from Windsor Castle. The Victoria Memorial was presented by her son Edward VII. On the south wall hangs an oil painting by Vasiliy Vereshchagin of the State Entry of the Prince of Wales into Jaipur in 1876. within the mid-1870s, Saiyid Nurul Hasan, Minister of Education, promoted the explanation for a new gallery dedicated to visual History. from Calcutta. In November 1988, Hasan organized a world seminar on the historical perspectives of Calcutta's tercentenary. The concept of a gallery in Calcutta was approved and a design was developed resulting in the opening of the gallery in 1992. The Calcutta Gallery offers a visible representation of the history and development of Calcutta when the capital of India was transferred to New Delhi. The gallery also features a life-size diorama of Chitpur Street from the late 19th century.

The Taj Mahal is one of the most popular tourist destinations around India. The Taj Mahal is built during the Mughal era by the best craftsmen in the world after great planning and huge investment. The Taj Mahal has four amazing pillars at its corners which are built of precious stones and white The inner chamber of the Taj Mahal is made of OM marble. decorated with precious stones and designs carved into the marble. The Taj Mahal is surrounded by a Mughal garden. The Taj Mahal opens the large 280 m square every day of the week except Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Taj festival, a 10-day annual event is held in front of the Mahal. The month of February evokes memories of the Mughal era. The Taj Mahal was built using 1,200 elephants to transport materials to the construction site. From time to time, the government allocates a budget for the preservation of India's most famous historical asset, the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is a white marble mausoleum built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century.
• The Mahal was built in loving memory of the emperor's beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It took 22 years and 25000 workers to build the Taj Mahal. It is located on the banks of the river Yamuna and is surrounded by a garden of 280 square meters. The Taj Mahal is an attractive historical place in India. It is a cultural monument of India that was built by King Shah Jahan in memory of his wife (Mumtaz Mahal) after her death. It is situated in a large area with lots of greenery in the front and side, with a river, lake, and lawn in the back. Located in Agra, UP, India.. It is the most beautiful building made of white marble. It's like dream heaven. It is designed attractively and adorned with royal beauty. It is one of the most amazing natural beauties on earth. In the dark chamber under the dome are the tombs of both the king and the queen. On the walls are some rhymes written in the Koran using different colored pieces of glass. It has four minarets placed in all four corners in a very attractive manner. Last summer vacation, I visited the historic city of Delhi. It was an adventurous and exciting experience. We took a train to Delhi, where we first went to our grandparents' house and then rested for a few hours. Delhi has been known by different names at different times. In ancient times it was known as Indraprastha, in medieval times it was known as Tughlaq Abad. Many monuments in Delhi are famous for their history. Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Humayun Tomb, Jantar Mantar, and Qutub Miner are located here which makes Delhi rich in history and India's glorious past is told through these monuments. Meanwhile, there are many wonders of modern times like Rastafari Bhawan, Parliament, Lotus Temple, and so on.
